Love is eternal. There are inspired
messages, but they are temporary.
There is knowledge, but it will pass.
For these gifts are partial; but when
what is perfect comes\ then what is
partial will disappear. Meanwhile,
these three remain: Faith, Hope, and
Love. And the greatest of these is
Love. - Corinthian 13

years seniors Ben Lathrop, Josh Thaxter,
Nathan Smalley, Peter Cappers, and Jason
Jancaitis carried the team through them. Co-
Captains, Pete Cappers and Ben Lathrop are
looking forward to this year's season. Good

This year's team held many prospects for success but the team was thwarted by its induction into a league
full of New Bedfords and Brocktons. Senior captains Josh Thaxter and Peter Cappers led the team to an
emotionally successful season, with the help of Ben Taylor, Ben Lathrop, Darren Bell, Nathan Smalley, and
our foreign exchange student, Quentin Wong. The team will always remember the female high jumper from
Norwell, the double hills, Free St., and those devastating track workouts, as well as Nathan Smalley 's
incredible leap of 19 ft. 7 1/4 in. in the pole vault and his tremendous heave of 69 yds. in the hammer throw .
Congratulations to all!

The 1992-1993 Varsity Basketball Cheerleading season kicked off to a great start right at tryouts. The twinkle was
"Sooo good." Immediately the importance of "SQUEEZE" to the concept "Feel free to get it up" was discovered. There was
an occasional problem because with "Hands on hips. Smiles on lips", it was soon possible to "Push it" on command. It was
decided to "Do it one more time", then "Higher", despite the NIKE being permanently imprinted on many bodies. As a
result it is now known that the tops of the cafeteria lights need to be cleaned. So, Li-Li, the Human Crash Pads, Tee. Fran,
Blondie, Red, our Little Rapper, Crelly, Hoopy, Jazz, God, and the Minis, never lose your "After-Glow", we had an Awesome
time.

JAZZ BAND

After being rated sixth in the national wide Big Apple Festival last May, the young but talented
Hingham High School Jazz Band had high expectations to Uve up to. Under the direction of Mr. Roger McClentic, the band played up
to its usual high standard of excellence. With the leadership of seniors. Bill Ramsey and Doug Carpenter, the band completed one of
its most successful years in history. Although graduating some premiere soloists, band members, Joe Colclough and Mark Osier on
trumpet. Bill Ramsey on trombone, Charhe Sayer on drums, Luke Davenport and Grant McCarey on Saxophone, Matt Sonaki on
Guitar, and Brendon Tulley on Bass have stepped up and performed spectacularly. In May, the members of the Jazz Band traveled to
Washington D.C. where they again competed against other schools. This trip was made possible through the fall fruit sale efforts.
There was an overwhelming response of praise and compliments for the Jazz Band from all who listened. The band is entitled a pat
on the back and owes Mr, McClentic a big thanks.

The Hingham High School Band had yet another
banner year. The Band, under the direction of Mr. Roger
McClentic, was able to complete in a nationally acclaimed
Music Festival in Washington D.C. where it won itself
numerous awards. Having a strong core of talented seniors,
the band was able to preform college level music including
The Lincoln Portrait at its annual Ideas of march Concert.
With President Bill Ramsey, Vice President Doug Carpen-
ter, Secretary Katie Sayer, Librarian Nancy Canavan, and a
strong board of officers, the band was able to live up to its
prestigious reputation. The Band also participated in the
Oxfam Concert during March which was a fund raiser for
needy children. After completion of yet another fruit sale,
the band was able to make giant strides in the performing
of music. Having members of The Southeast Massachu-
setts District Honors Band, S.E.M.S.B.A Honors Band,
and ALL STATE BAND, the band progressed at a rapid
rate. It can be noted that for everyone who is near the Band
Room G Period is treated with the most glorious of sounds.
We thank Mr. McClentic and the Hingham High Parents
Association for their hard work and dedication.

Fun with croppers

Dear Yearbook Readers,

This year's yearbook is a product of the collaboration of many seniors who
have sacrificed hours of their free time in order to make this year's yearbook the best it
could be. Although we were all inexperienced, we managed to get the job done on time
(well, almost).

Forever in our hearts will be such memorable words as cropper, pica, grease
pencil, final-sheets, and my personal favorite, the DEADline. 1 want to thank all those
who spent time mastering these vital yearbook tools. 1 really appreciated all of the help I
could get.

1 would also like to thank everyone who donated pictures or wrote something
for the yearbook, the photographer guy from McGrath's who took pictures of our sporting
events, and the Herff Jones people for publishing our book.

All in all, 1 hope my stressing out didn't bug anyone too much, and 1 hope that
this yearbook helps the class of '93 remember HHS for years to come.

Sincerely,

Lisa Hawkins, Co-editor of '93 yearbook

We hope
you enjoy it!

It's hard to believe four years are over. We have proved again and again that the freshman through senior years at Hingham High can
be a blast! Coming together at H.H.S. from both South and Central Junior, we have grown to be a very united and spirited class.
The great success of the class of 1993 is partly due to the dedication and leadership of our class advisors Mrs. Tierney and Mrs.
Flaherty and the officers: President, Kerri Mullen; Vice-President, Colleen Carnes; Secretary, Megan Brett; and Treasurer, Laura
McAloon.

Now, in our senior year, as we are preparing to leave and go our separate ways, the four officers would like to thank the entire
class for their help, effort, and support. Good luck in the future, Class of 1993, and keep in touch.

Medieval Festival 1990

The highlight of our freshman year when we actually tried
in school (well, some of us). As you can tell by these
pictures, we would do anything for a grade. Right Aaron?
Keep your clothes on next time. By the way Chanzo, what
is on your head?

THE WONDER YEARS...

the time before high school when we looked up to our teachers...
literally. This was when we looked foward to cookies and milk,
fighting on the playground was the most stressful part of the day, and
our biggest challenge was choosing which lunchbox to carry.

For you my friend I send this thought,

I miss you dearly when we're apart.

We have fun when we're together.

I hope this fun will last forever.

Though I may not be back soon,

I miss your smile that shines like the moon.

Your comfort cheers me when I am down.

Your face frees me of the sadness that I've found.

There are never enough words to say

How much I love you each and everyday.

Nicole A.

Ludwig

1975-1991

When life is cold.
And the path is dark,
I look up to you for
Warmth and light.

When dreams seem unreachable.
And answers can't be found,
I turn to you for encouragement
And understanding.

When I feel alone.
And no one is there
To shaie with, I soon
Remember you, my
Dear friend.

And when the sun breaks
And everything is new
And beautiful, I know you
Are there beside me.

We miss and love you Nicole.
